Friday Hackathon · Deployment Knowledge as an Agent Skill
Let's stop asking Kevin about deployment!
Many of us struggle with deployments and end up asking Kevin every time. That concentrates critical knowledge in one person — a bottleneck that eats his time and blocks everyone else.
The goal: an LLM agent that handles deployment problems the way Kevin does. It knows our deployment tools and knows how and what to backport — answering questions and carrying out the steps without someone walking it through each time.
What we did
We encoded Kevin's deployment knowledge into an agent skill.
Built a read-only Notion skill first — so the agent can pull information straight from Notion for anything not yet captured
Wrote a deployment skill capturing the tools, steps and backport rules
Documented the 7s-release CLI and 7s-package-version
Added Tagging, the Deployment Process and the Deployment Queue
Added Rust crate backporting, cascading through dependencies
Anyone can now ask the agent a deployment question — or have it carry out the steps — instead of asking Kevin.

This is what you get when you load the skill with /deployment.
